JABAR EKSPRES – PT Pos Indonesia Lhokseumawe Branch, Aceh began distributing the third phase of government food reserve rice assistance to 160,130 households in five districts/cities in Indonesia’s westernmost province.
Head of the Lhokseumawe Branch of the Indonesian Post Office Asmin Daeli in Lhokseumawe, Friday (6/9), said the distribution of food aid rice is targeted to be completed until June 20, 2023.
“Alhamdulillah, the residents are very enthusiastic to get this rice aid. The rice distributed is 10 kilograms per beneficiary family head,” he said.

A total of five districts / cities in the working area of PT Pos Indonesia Lhokseumawe Branch, namely North Aceh Regency, Lhokseumawe City, Bireuen Regency, Bener Meriah Regency, and Central Aceh Regency.
“Every family head who will get food aid rice with the requirements only need to bring a family card or identity card (KTP) and recipient coupons given by their respective village officials,” he said.
He added that the food reserve rice assistance was provided for three stages, namely in April, May and June. This assistance is also an effort to overcome the food crisis in the community.
“So far there have been no obstacles in the process of distributing this food aid. For the target recipients, the Post Office cooperates with the Social Service and social institutions to obtain a list of beneficiary families and also the distribution,” she said.
Asmin said the allocation of food aid rice for Lhokseumawe City was 12,978 beneficiary families (KPM), North Aceh Regency 73,502 KPM, Bireuen Regency 49,077 KPM, Bener Meriah Regency 7,162 KPM, and Central Aceh Regency 17,411 KPM.
“Alhamdulillah, the enthusiasm of the community is very high to get rice assistance,” he said.
For remote areas, he said, officers will hand over to community representatives by preparing a location point at the sub-district office or village head.
