3138 West Sulawesi Cattle Fulfil Kalimantan’s Eid al-Adha Needs

JABAR EKSPRES – A total of 3,138 cattle from West Sulawesi province have been sent to fulfil the needs of residents in Kalimantan island for Eid al-Adha 1443 AH.

Head of the Mamuju Agricultural Quarantine, Agus Karyono in Mamuju, Thursday, said that 3,138 cattle from West Sulawesi have been sent to Kalimantan through the port of Mamuju Regency and Majene Regency.

He said that the 3,138 cattle were sent 91 times to fulfil the needs of Eid al-Adha 1444 hijri residents on the island of Kalimantan.

According to him, the Mamuju Agricultural Quarantine has scanned the barcode on the eartags to ensure the cattle have been vaccinated and treated with disinfectant spraying to remove microorganisms.

“It is confirmed that all cattle sent to Kalimantan are in a healthy condition for public consumption on Eid al-Adha,” he said.

He said the cattle shipments are taking place ahead of Eid al-Adha and the number will continue to grow until the day of the holiday.

“The latest shipment has 138 cattle sent to Kalimantan and has gone through a 14-day quarantine period, and it is certain that shipments will continue until Eid,” he said.

Therefore, he said, the Mamuju Agricultural Quarantine remains on standby to monitor and inspect cattle sent to Kalimantan to ensure they are healthy, fit and safe for consumption by the public.
