Police: TPPO Victim Promised “Cleaning Service” Job in Saudi Arabia

JABAR EKSPRES – The Directorate of Special Crimes (Ditreskrimsus) of Polda Metro Jaya said that the 22 victims in the trafficking in persons (TPPO) case were lured to work as ‘cleaning service’ in Saudi Arabia by suspects AG and F.

“On the passport, the 22 victims or prospective migrant workers were lured to work as cleaning service in Saudi Arabia,” said Jakarta Police Special Crimes Investigation Director (Ditreskrimsus) Kombes Pol Auliansyah Lubis during a press conference in Jakarta, Thursday (6/8).

Auliansyah explained that from the evidence obtained, the visas of the prospective workers were visas for pilgrimage.

“In fact, from the visa evidence that we found at the crime scene or the visas of the prospective workers, they are visas for pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia with a validity period of 90 days and not visas to work in Saudi Arabia,” he said.

Auliansyah also added that his party was still investigating this case including the other parties involved so he could not provide more detailed information.

“That brother AG and the F did not work alone. So later there is the passport maker, there are those who carry out activities for health checks, then there are those who recruit at the place of origin, because these victims come from NTB, and then later there are those who receive at the destination,” he added.

Previously, the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimsus) of Polda Metro Jaya had arrested two suspects in a case of criminal trafficking in persons (TPPO) with the intention of exploitation.

“The two suspects are a man with the initials AG and a woman with the initials F,” said Director of Special Criminal Investigation (Dirreskrimsus) of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Pol Auliansyah Lubis during a press conference in Jakarta, Thursday.

Auliansyah explained that the Subdit 3 Environmental Resources (Sumdaling) team received information and conducted an investigation in the Kebon Jeruk area, West Jakarta.
