Java Jazz 2023: MAX Goes All Out on The Second Night!

JABAR EKSPRES – American soloist, MAX, closed the second night of the 18th Jakarta International BNI Java Jazz Festival 2023 at JIExpo Kemayoran Jakarta, Saturday (6/3), with an attractive and energetic performance throughout the show.

“Let’s stand up Jakarta, let’s party. Are you ready?” shouted MAX when opening the performance through the song “Color Vision” which was released in 2020.

Dressed in a pink and white-striped T-shirt and shirt, white-rimmed sunglasses, and white pants and shoes, MAX, whose full name is Maxwell George Schneider, said “thank you” in Indonesian several times in between and at the end of his songs.

“Jakarta, we’ll be touring the world all summer and I believe you guys will be the craziest crowd on this tour. Give us your best energy tonight,” after MAX sang “Love Me Less” which was met with applause from the audience who packed BNI Hall.

Some of pMAX’s mainstay numbers, the singer under Arista and Sony RED labels, were smoothly launched such as “Savage”, “Holla”, “Strings”, “10 Victoria’s Seceret Models”, “Satisfied”, “One More Weekend”, “It’s You”, “Lights Down Low”, “Mug Shot”, “Say Less”, with the support of colorful stage lighting that cheered up the audience.

“Jakarta Baby, I love you. I want you guys at the back to the front to clap,” MAX pleaded as he took off his shirt, jumped high, and pranced energetically on stage.

He also often lifted one leg high into the air as is his habit on stage.

In the song “Holla”, the singer born on June 21, 1992, showed his ability to dance several times with energetic choreography with keyboardist-saxophonist Cody Dear.

“Jakarta, it turns out we have a lot of fans here, huh?” said MAX while pointing his finger in various directions and then performed the song “Acid Dreams”.
