JABAR EKSPRES – The Lore Lindu National Park (TNLL) Center, Central Sulawesi, said that as many as seven unlicensed mining sites (PETI) in the Lore Lindu National Park (TNLL) area are still operating.

“There are 15 that are no longer active, but there are still seven that are active,” Head of the TNLL Center Titik Wurdiningsih said in Palu on Thursday.

She revealed that the seven PETI locations were in Sidondo Village, Sigi Regency, Dongi-Dongi Village and Wanga Village, Poso Regency.

Currently, he said, the TNNL Center is still looking for solutions to curb the illegal mining activities.

“Mining in Dongi-Dongi Village is still going on, we are still looking for solutions on how to resolve this,” he said.

In the near future, his party will pay a visit to the Head of the Central Sulawesi Regional Police (Kapolda) in order to stay in touch and synergize with each other in solving the PETI problem.

According to him, if the PETI problem continues and is not resolved immediately, especially those in the Lore Lindu National Park area, it will damage the conservation of the National Park.

Previously, in early May, the TNLL Center together with the Sigi Regency Government and the Police had closed PETI activities in Sidondo Village, Sigi Biromaru District.

“I am very grateful for the response made by the Sigi Regency Government some time ago so that PETI in Sidondo Village can be closed,” he said.
