JABAR EKSPRES – Indonesian men’s doubles Christhopher Rungkat/Nathan Barki made sure to step into the second round of the fourth BNI MedcoEnergi M25K Series tournament.
Competing at the Sultan Hotel field, Jakarta, Tuesday, Christo/Nathan defeated Australian doubles Arjun Mehrotra/Tomislav.
The Cambodia Sea Games silver medalist was able to appear dominant to win two straight sets in his first match. Leading 6-3 in the first set, Christo/Nathan continued to dictate their opponents and only lost two games, to win with a score of 6-2.
Apart from Christo and Nathan, the Indonesian hosts also successfully placed one more representative into the second round of the tournament with a total prize of 25,000 US dollars through Achad Maruf / Widyaromahdiansyah.
Facing doubles compatriots Tegar Wibowo/Lucky Kurniawan, despite having to play three sets, Achad and Widyaromahdiansyah managed to win 2-6, 6-3, supertiebreak 10-7.

Meanwhile, the host’s other men’s doubles representative Claudio Lumanau/Renaldi Alqila failed to follow in the steps of his two colleagues after being forced to give up two straight sets from Taiwanese doubles Jason Jung/Ze Ying Chen 6-2, 6-1.
In the men’s singles, Indonesian tennis player Anthony Susanto also qualified for the main round of the fourth BNI Medco Energi M25K series.
Although he has not played in his best performance, Anton won a rubber set with a final score of 6-3, 2-6 and supertiebreak 10-8 in the top qualifying match.
Unfortunately, Anthony Susanto’s move failed to be followed by Tegar Wibowo who met Australian Mason Naumovski through a three-set battle that ended 6-3, 2-6, and 10-8.
Apart from Anthony Susanto who is entitled to qualify for the main round at the event which is included in the ITF World tennis series calendar, the Indonesian host also still places Muhammad Rifqi Fitriadi and four tennis players with wildcard facilities.
