JABAR EKSPRES – Six Indonesian representatives will continue their struggle by playing the Super 500 Malaysia Masters 2023 quarter-final match at the Axiata Arena, Kuala Lumpur, Friday (5/26).
From the men’s singles sector Christian Adinata is the hope of the Red and White to be able to go far. He will challenge former world number one badminton player from India Srikanth Kidambi.
The steep road will also be faced by women’s singles Gregoria Mariska Tunjung who meets the second seed from China Wang Zhi Yi in the fight for tickets to the last four.
Then the two remaining Indonesian men’s doubles representatives, Mohammad Ahsan / Hendra Setiawan and Leo Rolly Carnando / Daniel Marthin are also preparing to continue their journey in the neighboring country against the host representatives.

Ahsan / Hendra met Man Wei Chong / Tee Kai Wun, while Leo / Daniel challenged the second seed Aaron Chia / Soh Wooi Yik.
From the women’s doubles sector, Indonesia has Apriyahi Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti who will compete with South Korean representatives Jeong Na-eun/Kim Hye-jeong.
One last representative is Rinov Rivaldy / Pitha Haningtyas Mentari who challenges the third seed from South Korea Seo Seung-jae / Seo Yoo-jung to fight for the Malaysia Masters 2023 semifinal ticket.
Indonesian players are trying to maintain the winning trend in the tournament which competes for a total prize of 420 thousand US dollars (around Rp6.2 billion).
Last year, the Red and White managed to bring home two titles through Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo from the men’s singles sector and men’s doubles Fajar Alfian / Muhammad Rian Ardianto.
Unfortunately in this edition, the two Indonesian representatives failed to defend the title after being eliminated early.
Even Chico had to lift a suitcase in the first round after losing to Taiwanese men’s singles Lin Chun-yi after losing with a score of 21-13, 16-21, 8-21.
