JABAR EKSPRES – The Health Office of Tanggamus Regency, Lampung Province, recorded three cases of lion king disease or syphilis and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) in the January-May 2023 period in this region.
“For the number of syphilis cases in Tanggamus alone from the beginning of January to May 2023 there were three cases of syphilis,” said Head of the Disease Prevention and Control Division, Marhaenisa Abirakhman, when contacted from West Coast, Tuesday (5/23).
He said, of the number of syphilis cases that were successfully found and treated by the Tanggamus District health office were in two sub-districts.

“The three reported cases were in Antar Brak sub-district, one case and Negara Batin, two cases,” he said.
For treatment, he said, all patients with syphilis have been treated and cured.
“For those exposed to infectious diseases, treatment and healing have been carried out,” he said.
He appealed to the entire community, especially teenagers, to avoid promiscuity such as free sex.
“The appeal is for the community, especially teenagers, to avoid free sex, or having sex by changing partners, and for those who are married to be loyal to their partners,” he appealed.
Previously, based on data from the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes), syphilis continued to increase in the last five years (2016-2022).
