JABAR EKSPRES –The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) through the Directorate General (Ditjen) of Highways revealed that the Puncak toll road plan is currently in the stage of preparing studies from prospective proponents.
“We need to convey that currently there are prospective initiators who are interested in proposing investment in the Puncak toll road. The prospective proponent is preparing a study which hopefully in the near future will be submitted to the government, namely the Ministry of PUPR for us to review,” said Director of Obstacle Free Roads of the Directorate General of Highways of the Ministry of PUPR, Triono Junoasmono or Yongki, in a discussion on Evaluation of Mudik and Backflow of Eid 2023 in Jakarta, Wednesday (10/5).
Yongki said if the planned network from the Bogor – Ciawi – Sukabumi (Bocimi) Toll Road entrance can later continue to the Puncak and penetrate into Cianjur.
“So later this Puncak toll road will be toll to toll, where the Puncak toll road network is not separate and will be connected to the existing toll road and penetrate directly towards Cianjur,” he said.
However, whether it is proposed as a whole or in stages is what the PUPR Ministry is waiting for. In general, toll road construction will be carried out in stages in accordance with the feasibility study and this is what the PUPR Ministry is waiting for from the prospective initiator.
“If we look from Caringin to Cianjur, approximately 52 km is divided into several stages or sections with an estimate of around five sections. We are waiting for the stages from the potential initiator,” said Yongki.
According to him, the point is that this proposal is very good because if you look at it with the hope that it can help reduce congestion on the non-toll roads in Puncak. hopefully, if this is approved, we can carry out the construction.
