JABAR EKSPRES –Indonesian speed category rock climbing coach, Hendra Basir, said player recovery was the determining factor in the final round of the 2023 Rock Climbing World Cup and IFSC World Cup 2023 Jakarta series at Lot 6 Gelora Bung Karno (GBK), Jakarta on Saturday (5/6).
Hendra Basir also revealed that it is currently not possible to strategize in the final round because the time limit and gap are too thin.
“First, we can’t strategize because of the time limit, the gap is also very thin. At least it depends on the focus of friends, the recovery must be maximized tonight and tomorrow morning. We are most focused on recovery,” Hendra Basir said.
Playing as the host, the Red and White athletes performed promisingly in the qualifying round with six male rock climbing athletes qualifying for the finals, while for the women’s category, there are four athletes who are certain to advance to the finals.
“Actually from 12 male athletes and 10 female athletes, actually the probability of the son can be more than six, but indeed the pressure is very high, many competitors fill the time records,” said Hendra Basir.
The coach who also presented the gold title for Indonesia at the 2018 Asian Games revealed that the qualifying round of the IFSC World Cup Jakarta series was much tighter than the series in Seoul, South Korea.
“This is a very hard qualification. If in the Korean series for men 5.42 seconds still enter the round of 16 now 5.37 seconds do not enter. This indicates the tight competition towards the Olympics,” Hendra said.
From the men’s category, six athletes including Kiromal Katibin, Veddriq Leonardo, Rahmad Adi Mulyono, Raharjati Nursamsa, Zainal Aripin and Aspar Aspar will fight for medals in the final round later.
While for the women’s category four athletes including Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi, Rajiah Sallsabillah, Nurul Iqamah, and Mutia Amanda Narda will also compete for medals in the IFSC World Cup finals which will be held later at 19.00 WIB.
