SEA Games Cambodia Soccer First Half: Indonesia 1-0 Philippines

JABAR EKSPRES – The U-22 Indonesian National Football Team won 1-0 over the Philippines in the first round of the 2023 SEA Games Group A match in Cambodia.

The match was held at the Phnom Penh National Stadium, Cambodia, Saturday (29/4) afternoon, Western Indonesian Time.

Midfielder Marselino Ferdinan managed to score after taking advantage of a cross from right winger Rio Fahmi.

Since the start of the match, Indonesia continued to try to play aggressively until it got its first chance in the third minute. Witan Sulaeman shot the ball from outside the penalty box, but goalkeeper Quincy Kammeraad managed to fend off the ball.

Indonesia’s mad opportunity to score a goal in the third minute made it difficult for the Garuda Muda national team to continue developing their game.

Throughout the match, they continued to dominate the ball as if it were their own, but not a single pass they were able to find centre-forward Ramadhan Sananta or create a clear chance.

The situation got even more difficult when Filipino players began to stand in their penalty box.

Ramadhan and Ananda Raehan tried to get around the situation by shooting from outside the penalty box. However, the two shots still missed and Quincy was able to deal with both shots.

Jeam Kelly Sroyer created a new opportunity by sending a through ball to Ramadhan. However, his kick only hit the net next to the goal.

Sroyer also tried to become a figure with opportunities after receiving a pulling ball from Rio. However, unfortunately his shot over the crossbar.

Indonesia was cornered by the Philippines national team when they launched a counterattack. Even so, Ernando Ari was still able to overcome this and managed to throw the ball.

In the 46th minute, Rio again gave a threat from the right side to be sent to Marselino. From there, Marcelino fired a shot until the ball sank into the right corner of the Philippines goal.
