Returning from Australia, the National Basketball Team Guides RANS PIK

JABAR EKSPRES – The Men’s Basketball Team guided the RANS PIK Basketball squad after returning from trials in Australia, last Monday (24/4).

They forged the results of this practice by winning a test match with a score of 97-71 at the GBK Arena, Senayan, Jakarta.

“This trial needs to be carried out to see the progress of the players after returning from Australia. At the same time, to keep the players in a competitive atmosphere ahead of the 2023 Cambodia SEA Games,” said Assistant Coach for the Men’s Elite National Team, Johannis Winar, in a written statement.

During the match test match against RANS PIK Basketball, Lester Prosper became the donor of the most points for the Men’s Basketball National Team with 21 points, 13 rebounds and 1 assist. Dame Diagne is in second place with 17 points and 3 rebounds.

Akeem Scott from RANS PIK Basketball contributed the most with 22 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists.

Winar also revealed that the remaining time before the national team left for Cambodia would be used to perfect the deficiencies that existed during the training process. He hopes they can perform confidently during official matches later.

“Regarding the progress of the Men’s Elite National Team, we continue to evaluate it every day. In this trial against RANS PIK, we are still focusing on the performance of the players during defense and offense, as well as during transitions,” he said.

Before the Men’s Elite National Team played against the Basketball League clubs in Australia, they had held a training camp on March 23.

There were around nine test matches in Australia, where four of the total matches were won by the Men’s Elite National Team.

This was done as a form of effort to bring pride to Indonesia’s name at the 2023 Cambodian SEA Games which will take place from 5 to 17 May.
