JABAR EKSPRES —Former governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, congratulated Ganjar Pranowo for being named as a presidential candidate from PDI Perjuangan.
“Congratulations to Mr. Ganjar, God willing, the mandate can be carried out well and hopefully this will make our democracy more mature and provide benefits for all people,” Anies Baswedan said after performing Eid al-Fitr prayers at the Istiqlal Mosque, Jakarta, Saturday (22/4).
Anies, who was nominated as a presidential candidate by the NasDem Party, Democratic Party, and PKS, has not yet announced who the vice presidential candidate will be to accompany him in the 2024 elections.

According to him, currently people are still celebrating Eid al-Fitr and not talking about politics.
“This means after Eid, how many days will it be? Relax first, the important thing is that right now we are celebrating Eid together, because the whole community is also currently no longer talking about politics. People are now talking about the warmth of gathering together, forgiving each other with family, with the community, with the environment,” he explained.
Anies performed the Eid prayer at the Istiqlal Mosque, Jakarta, with his wife, Feri Farhati, his mother, Aliyah Rasyid Baswedan, and his two children Kaisar Hakam Baswedan and Ismail Hakim Baswedan. Aliyah Rasyid Baswedan also offered a prayer for Anies.
“Ya Allah, ya Robbi, we convey to you your only place. Ya Allah, ordain us the best, we don’t know the best, may Allah ordain the best for Anies for the entire Indonesian nation. Amin,” said Aliyah Rashid.
