Extreme Weather Still Potential to Hit North Sulawesi until April 15, 2023

JABAR EKSPRES — The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) estimates that districts and cities in North Sulawesi still have the potential to be hit by extreme weather for the next few days.

“BMKG issued an early warning of extreme weather until April 15, 2023,” said Coordinator of Observation and Information Division of BMKG Sam Ratulangi Meteorological Station Manado, Ben A Molle, in Manado, Wednesday (12/4).

Several districts and cities, according to Ben, have the potential for moderate to heavy rain that can be accompanied by lightning and strong winds.

Therefore, he hopes that people will remain vigilant against potential hydrometeorological disasters such as floods, landslides, and fallen trees.

“We will continue to inform extreme weather conditions that can be accessed by the public or stakeholders in this area through the information channels we provide,” he said.

He said on Thursday (13/4), the potential for extreme weather is expected to occur in South Minahasa Regency and South Bolaang Mongondow Regency.

While the next day, extreme weather conditions are likely to occur in South Minahasa Regency, North Minahasa Regency and Bitung City.

Furthermore, Kotamobagu City, Bolaang Mongondow Regency, East Bolaang Mongondow Regency, North Bolaang Mongondow Regency, and South Bolaang Mongondow Regency.

While on April 15, extreme weather is expected to occur in South Minahasa Regency, East Bolaang Mongondow Regency, Kotamobagu City and South Bolaang Mongondow Regency.
