The Eid 2023: 85 Percent of Train Tickets Sold Out

JABAR EKSPRES — Train tickets for the Eid 2023 transportation period with departures from the Madiun Operating Region 7 in East Java, have been sold 85 percent of the total available tickets.

Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Daop 7 Madiun, Supriyanto, said that during the Eid 2023 transportation period which runs from April 12 to May 3, 2023, Daop 7 Madiun prepared four regular trains and one additional Lebaran train for departure from Daop 7 Madiun with a seating capacity of 55,900 seats.

“Of the 55,900 seats, as of Tuesday, April 4, 2023, 47,746 seats or 85 percent have been sold,” said Supriyanto in Madiun, Tuesday (4/4).

There are 23 regular trains and five additional trains passing through Daop 7 Madiun to Jakarta, Bandung, and Jember, with a capacity provided during the Eid transportation period of 219,237 seats and 158,374 seats or 75 percent have been sold.

According to him, of these trains, there are several trains whose occupancy has reached 90 percent and almost 100 percent, especially trains departing from Daop 7 Madiun.

The trains include Kahuripan train with Blitar-Kiaracondong relation in the period April 14-May 3, 2023, Bangunkarta train with Jombang-Gambir relation in the period April 24-May 3, Brantas train with Blitar-Pasar Senen relation in the period April 24-May 2, and Brantas Tambahan train with Blitar-Pasar Senen relation in the period April 19-30, 2023.

Supriyanto appealed to the public to plan their Eid homecoming and return trips well, because train tickets for the Eid transportation period are still quite available.

If the desired train ticket has run out, customers can choose an alternative date or utilize the “Connecting Train” feature in the KAI Access application which will help provide travel options by combining connecting train schedules.

In addition, prospective passengers are still asked to implement health protocols during train travel. This is in accordance with the Minister of Transportation Circular Number 84 of 2022 and the Ministry of Health Circular Number HK.02.02/II/3984/2022.
