Ministry of Religious Affairs Urges Muslims to Pray for Victims of Morocco Earthquake and Libya Flash Floods

JABAR EKSPRES – The Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) has instructed Muslims in Indonesia to pray for the victims of the earthquake in Morocco and flash floods in Libya.

“Muslims throughout Indonesia are advised to pray for the victims of the earthquake in Morocco and flash floods in Libya,” said the ministry’s Director of Islamic Affairs and Sharia Development Adib in Jakarta, as quoted by JabarEkspres.com from Antara News on Thursday, September 14, 2023.

Adib said that the Istiqlal Mosque in Jakarta is planning to hold a special prayer for the victims who have passed away.

“The occult prayer is held to pray for the dead and can be held after the Friday prayer on September 15, 2023,” he said.

It was previously known that the flash flood in Libya occurred on September 11, 2023. Meanwhile, the earthquake occurred on September 8, 2023.

Both events have claimed many victims. Recorded on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, the earthquake that occurred, has claimed the lives of 2,901 people. Meanwhile, 5,530 other people were injured.

Meanwhile, flash floods that occurred in the city of Dema, Eastern Libya, claimed 3,060 lives and left 5,200 people missing on Tuesday, September 12, 2023.
