JABAR EKSPRES – Manchester United coach Erik ten Hag said the recruitment of Sofyan Amrabat on a season-long loan from ACF Fiorentina was to fill the team’s number 6 or defensive midfielder.
United currently have Casemiro playing in defensive midfield and Amrabat’s arrival, said Ten Hag, is for the needs of squad depth in that position.
“Since the start of the season, it has been one of my wishes to get another number 6 player, a defensive midfielder, into the squad because throughout the season you need depth there,” said Ten Hag, quoted from the club’s official website, Tuesday (9/5).

“In that position we only have Casemiro who can play very well there,” he added.
Not only as squad depth in the defensive midfield, with his quality, the Dutch coach thinks Amrabat can also play together with Casemiro.
“He can also play with Casemiro because he can also play a little higher up the pitch. So it’s great to have him and I think he’s very suitable to play in the Premier League, to play in the Champions League,” explained Ten Hag.
The former Ajax Amsterdam coach also believes the 1.85 meter tall midfielder can contribute a lot to the Reds Devils this season.
“He is very dynamic, he is very good in duels. So we are happy to have him at United and I think he will contribute to the high targets we set,” said Ten Hag.
