JABAR EKSPRES – French stocks ended lower on Wednesday local time (8/2/2023), recording a loss for the second day in a row, with the benchmark CAC 40 index on the Paris Stock Exchange shedding 1.26 percent or 93.24 points to settle at 7,312.84 points.
The CAC 40 index slumped 1.22 percent or 91.70 points to 7,406.08 points on Tuesday (8/1/2023), after adding 0.29 percent or 21.31 points to 7,497.78 points on Monday (7/31/2023), and gaining 0.15 percent or 11.23 points to 7,476.47 points on Friday (7/28/2023).

Of the 40 stocks of selected large companies that are components of the CAC 40 index, only five stocks managed to post gains, while 35 other stocks suffered losses.
Worldline SA, a French multinational payment and transactional services company suffered the biggest loss (top loser) among the leading stocks or blue chips, with its share price slashed 3.73 percent.
Followed by shares of European multinational integrated energy and petroleum company TotalEnergies SE losing 2.75 percent; and French construction and concessions company Vinci SA losing 2.31 percent.
Meanwhile, Schneider Electric SE, a French multinational that provides digital energy and automation solutions for efficiency and sustainability lifted 0.91 percent, becoming the top gainer of the leading stocks.
Followed by shares of the company that designs and manufactures electrical devices Legrand SA increased 0.82 percent; and French multinational advertising and public relations company Publicis Groupe SA gained 0.22 percent.
