Haryana Chief Minister Lal Khattar expressed his concern about the incident in a tweet on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), and called on all parties to maintain peace. He promised stern action against those responsible for the riots.
According to sources, the clashes took place after Monu Manesar, a cowherd wanted for several criminal cases, including the February killing of two Muslim men in Rajasthan, threatened via video to join the rally.
Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij said the government’s top priority was to bring the situation under control and asked all parties to maintain peace. The government is also trying to dispatch troops using helicopters.
