JABAR EKSPRES – Sweden opened a hate speech investigation into Salwan Momika, an Iraqi national who burned a copy of the Quran in front of a mosque in the Sodermalm area, on Wednesday (6/28).

According to Momika, Islam is a threat to Swedish values.

After Momika’s Quran burning coincided with Eid al-Adha, Swedish police launched a hate speech investigation in an alleged case of Islamophobia.

Previous applications related to the Quran burning in front of the Swedish Embassies in Turkey and Iraq were rejected by the Swedish police, but the decision was later overturned by the court.

Therefore, the Swedish Police did not reject the activists’ Quran burning application today.
