OMODA 5 Ranks Sixth in Export Car Sales in China

JABAR EKSPRES – Global premium automaker Chery Automobile announced that OMODA 5 export car sales in China totaled 12,316 units in May 2023 and 10,781 units in April 2023.

The figures for the two months show a positive growth of 14.2 percent. The success was an important moment as it was the first time Chery’s export sales exceeded the 10,000-unit mark in two months.

“This achievement is something to be proud of and is a testament to the OMODA 5’s excellent popularity. Of course this is also a spark for Chery companies in all countries, including Indonesia, to always be optimistic about expanding and strengthening the OMODA 5 market,” said President of PT Chery Sales Indonesia and Deputy Director of Chery International, Shawn Xu, in Jakarta, Monday (6/26).

Cherry believes that OMODA 5 can lead the automotive industry with its premium class, innovation excellence, futuristic design, and environmental awareness, to continue to captivate consumers around the world.

Based on data from the China Passenger Transportation Federation, OMODA 5 solidly ranks sixth as an automobile exporter in China. Cumulative export sales from January to May for OMODA 5 models totaled 50,211 units, demonstrating Chery’s strong popularity in the international market.

As a premium crossover SUV, the OMODA 5 was designed to meet the tastes of global consumers, and after its introduction it proved to be well-received by automotive consumers around the world. The impressive figures in April were the result of OMODA 5’s excellent sales performance in new automotive markets.

In Eastern Europe and Mexico, OMODA 5 even ranked first in the local market segment. May was also an exciting time as the first batch of OMODA 5 units were shipped to Spain from Shanghai.

Furthermore, said Shawn Xu, the OMODA 5 will continue to undergo development according to the strategic plan of Chery International, and is even preparing to launch its electrified version. The highly-anticipated OMODA 5 EV model is scheduled to go into production by the end of the fourth quarter of this year and will solidify OMODA 5’s vision of facing the new era of the automotive industry in an environmentally-friendly and low-carbon emission way.
