JABAR EKSPRES – French stocks ended in positive territory on Wednesday (June 28) local time, recording gains for the third consecutive day, with the benchmark CAC 40 index on the Paris Stock Exchange advancing 0.98 percent or 70.74 points to settle at 7,286.32 points.
The CAC 40 index added 0.43 percent or 31.23 points to 7,215.58 points on Tuesday (June 27), after rising 0.29 percent or 20.93 points to 7,184.35 points on Monday (June 26), and decreasing 0.55 percent or 39.86 points to 7,163.42 points on Friday (June 23).
Of the 40 stocks of selected large companies that are components of the CAC 40 index, 38 stocks managed to gain, while only two stocks suffered losses.
Carrefour SA, a company that operates supermarkets, hypermarkets, cash and carry stores and French multinational e-Commerce websites jumped 3.01 percent, becoming the top gainer of the blue chips.
Followed by shares of semiconductor integrated circuits designer, developer, manufacturer and marketer STMicroelectronics NV, up 2.93 percent; and French laboratory group providing testing and support services to the pharmaceutical, food, environmental, agriscience and consumer products industries Eurofins Scientific SE, up 2.54 percent.
Meanwhile, Kering SA, a company that designs, manufactures and markets luxury fashion goods suffered the most losses (top loser) among the leading stocks, with its share price slipping 1.13 percent.
Followed by shares of Luxembourg City-headquartered multinational steelmaker ArcelorMittal SA losing 0.30 percent.
