JABAR EKSPRES – James Maddison officially wore the Tottenham Hotspur uniform after the transfer process from Leicester City was completed.

Tottenham spent 40 million pounds (around IDR 757 billion) for the 26-year-old player. Maddison scored 55 goals and 41 assists in 203 matches in all competitions in five years at Leicester.

“We are delighted to announce the signing of James Maddison from Leicester City,” Tottenham said on the club’s official website on Thursday, June 29, 2023.

“The England midfielder has agreed a deal with the club until 2028.” he continued.

The 26-year-old England midfielder began his career with Coventry City, where he made his professional debut in August 2014, before joining Norwich City in January 2016.

Maddison became an important part of the Norwich team the following season, making 49 appearances in all competitions, and ending the season as the club’s top scorer with 15 goals.

In July 2018, James signed for Leicester City, making his Premier League debut the following month in the season opener against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

He then had an outstanding first season with the Foxes, where he made 38 appearances and scored 14 goals and led the club to win the English Premier League in the 2015/2016 season.

The Coventry-born midfielder made 203 appearances over five years with Leicester, scoring 55 goals and helping the Foxes lift the FA Cup in May 2021.
