JABAR EKSPRES – A number of sea and river ports in East Kalimantan (Kaltim) Province in the January-May 2023 period, loaded various oil and gas and non-oil and gas commodities for export to various destination countries, with a value of 12.6 billion US dollars.
“The destination countries for such exports include China, Malaysia, Japan, the Netherlands, Spain, Croatia, India, and South Korea,” said Intermediate Expert Statistician of the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of East Kalimantan Province Marinda Dama Prianto in Samarinda on Sunday.
Prianto, who is also the Head of the Distribution Statistics Team, continued, for oil and gas commodities exported are oil and gas products, while non-oil and gas commodities include mineral fuels, animal or vegetable fats and oils, various chemical products, and organic chemicals.
Meanwhile, the ports in East Kalimantan that load export goods worth US$12.6 billion include the Ports of Samarinda, Balikpapan, Tanjung Bara in East Kutai Regency, and Adang Bay Port in Paser Regency.
“The export value from a number of ports in East Kalimantan amounting to 12.6 billion has increased by 342.25 percent compared to the January-May 2022 period which was worth 2.85 billion US dollars,” Prianto said.
The details are commodities loaded from Samarinda Port in the January-May 2023 period amounting to 3.82 billion US dollars, an increase of 322.08 percent over the same period in 2022 which was worth 905.12 million US dollars.
Then commodities loaded at Balikpapan Port amounted to 2.78 billion US dollars, an increase of 629.55 percent compared to the same period the previous year which was worth 381.61 million US dollars.
Tanjung Bara Port loaded export commodities worth 1.97 billion US dollars, an increase of 260.56 percent when compared to the same period in 2022 which was recorded at 548.11 million US dollars.
Next, commodity exports loaded through Bontang Port with a value of 1.88 billion US dollars, an increase of 289.85 percent compared to January-May 2022 which was worth 483.69 million US dollars.
