JABAR EKSPRES – Mining BUMN Holding MIND ID planted hundreds of trees, released thousands of catfish seedlings, and cleaned up trash in the Cisadane River, Bogor, West Java, on Saturday (17/6), in collaboration with Indonesian Journalists Care (JIP) and the Nusa Organik Livestock Farmer Group (KTT) environmental community.
In an official statement received by Indonesia Window here on Sunday, MIND ID’s Head of Institutional Relations Selly Adriatika said the move was part of MIND ID’s commitment to maintain the balance of nature and preserve the environment.
“This activity is our real action to participate in preserving the Cisadane River ecosystem which has a vital role for the community, especially in the Jabodetabek area,” Selly said.
MIND ID actively continues to encourage and initiate all programs that support reforestation and environmental conservation, because in addition to being useful for maintaining the climate, these steps also maintain the friendliness of the surrounding biological ecosystem.
She said MIND ID’s collaboration with JIP and Nusa Organik Summit is a good initiative and proves the importance of cooperation between every element of society, which involves empowering local communities for their positive contributions so far to be optimized and maximized.
MIND ID’s commitment is not only carried out in areas that require special attention, such as rivers that often have the potential to cause floods, but also in mining operational areas, including through reclamation of ex-mining land into ecotourism, environmentally friendly processing of mining waste, and others.
“We really appreciate our friends from JIP and Nusa Organik Summit, because there really needs to be support from various stakeholders in an effort to realize a common goal, namely a friendly, comfortable, and sustainable living environment,” he also said.
Chairman of Indonesian Journalists Care (JIP) Abdul Rosyid said that the environmental action initiated by MIND ID was held in commemoration of World Environment Day on June 5, 2023.
