JABAR EKSPRES – The Government of Banyuwangi Regency, East Java, is spurring the performance of the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) to be more efficient by utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
Banyuwangi Regent Ipuk Fiestiandani said that as the world moves faster, and digitalization to the use of artificial intelligence (AI) technology in the world of work has grown rapidly.
“This potential must be immediately utilized for performance efficiency (of the State Civil Apparatus),” she said when giving a briefing in the inauguration of Functional ASN at the Hall of Banyuwangi Regency, East Java, Thursday (6/8).

In the near future, said Regent Ipuk, the Banyuwangi Regency Government will immediately adapt a number of AI-based tools to increase this efficiency, and this was adapted after conducting the world’s best digital-based public service short course in Estonia.
“Some time ago, we learned a lot while in Estonia. This is a country with the world’s best digital public servants. There are several AI tools that can be adapted in Banyuwangi,” said Ipuk.
With the utilization of AI, Ipuk hopes that the public services provided by ASN Banyuwangi can answer the wishes of the public.
“We must be responsive in dealing with public complaints. Don’t ignore complaints. You are supervised by the people, so you must provide the best service,” said Regent Ipuk.
On that occasion, Ipuk also emphasized President Joko Widodo’s vision to reduce extreme poverty and stunting children to zero percent. ASNs are encouraged to understand this vision in carrying out their work duties and functions.
“Especially for functional in the health sector. Let’s show your professionalism and dedication by jointly overcoming stunting in Banyuwangi,” she said.
Meanwhile, the Acting Head of the Personnel, Education and Training Agency (BKPP) of Banyuwangi Regency, Ilzam Nuzuli, said that the 258 Functional ASNs came from a number of fields. Apart from health workers, there are also from other fields.
