JABAR EKSPRES – A delegation from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) visited Bogor City, West Java, on Thursday (6/8), to discuss the revival of the Southeast Water Utilities Network (Seawun) – a regional network organization for drinking water and wastewater in the region.
Regional Public Company (Perumda) Tirta Pakuan of Bogor City received a visit from a delegation of six countries that are members of the ASEAN Seawun forum.
“This is a precursor to the reactivation of Seawun which has been on hiatus for a long time,” said President Director of Perumda Tirta Pakuan Rino Indira when receiving the ASEAN delegation at Dekeng Wastewater Treatment Plant, South Bogor District, Bogor.
Tirta said the ASEAN delegation’s visit was part of the Indonesia Water & Wastewater Expo and Forum (IWWEF) 2023 series at Bidakara Hotel, Jakarta, (6/6-8).

The ASEAN representatives came from Laos, the Philippines, Malaysia, Cambodia, Singapore, Thailand.
Rino said, the purpose of reactivating SEAWUN to improve the performance and service of water utilities in ASEAN, especially as a forum for mutual support in the field of knowledge and technology.
“There are many interesting cases that can be learned between countries, for example in Laos whose cultural conditions are almost the same as Indonesia’s. We can learn it all from them. And they can also take knowledge from us,” he said.
In addition to the Perumda Tirta Pakuan office in Bogor City, Rino also invited the SEAWUN ASEAN delegates to visit Dekeng IPA which is a national level pilot and reference.
“Dekeng IPA is our pride, where the production capacity can reach 1,800 liters per second, because it has upgraded its capacity. Not many have the same production facilities in Indonesia as Dekeng IPA,” he said.
Rino is committed that Perumda Tirta Pakuan continues to improve its insights and partnership networks. One of them is by participating in the Indonesia WWEF event in Jakarta, June 6-8.
