JABAR EKSPRES — The South Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) District Attorney’s Office (Kejari) in South Sumatra has named three officials of the local Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) as suspects in an alleged corruption case.

Head of the South OKU Prosecutor’s Office, Adi Purnama, in Muaradua, Friday (5/5), said that the three suspects were named as suspects in the alleged corruption of the management of the local district’s simultaneous regional election grants for the 2019 to 2021 fiscal years with a total budget value of IDR 15 billion.

The three suspects are HA as the Chairperson of the South Ogan Komering Ulu Regency Bawaslu Commissioner for the 2019-2021 period and BH who served as the Bawaslu Secretariat Coordinator from 2019-2023.

“Then, CPW as Treasurer of the 2019-2023 South Ogan Komering Ulu Regency Bawaslu,” he said.

He explained that the suspects were named after an investigation based on Investigation Order Number 03/L 6.23/Fd.1/01/2023 dated January 02, 2023.

“There is a discovery of alleged corruption in the use of South OKU Regency Bawaslu grant funds sourced from the 2019-2020 fiscal year APBD,” he said.

In the audit report on the calculation of state financial losses, he said, there were irregularities that caused state financial losses of Rp3.3 billion.

Currently, the three suspects have been detained for further legal proceedings.

“The detention of the suspects is in consideration of accelerating the filing and submission to trial,” he said.
