JABAR EKSPRES — Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc expressed his feelings while racing at the Australian Grand Prix through the newly released song “AUS23 (1:1)”.
“I’m happy to share with you all a piano song I composed, born out of my love for music and created as a way to get away from racing and relax in between races. I created this song around the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix, which is why I call it ‘AUS23 (1:1)’,” Leclerc was quoted as saying on his official Spotify profile page on Friday (28/4).
“This is how we call the Australian Grand Prix in my Formula 1 team, and I also thought it would be a good connection to the racing world,” he added.
Speaking of his race in Australia some time ago, Leclerc had a difficult time because he collided with Lance Stroll (Aston Martin) and did not return to the track.
Leclerc added that the four-minute song was made as a form of his love for music and the result of his piano practice for some time.
“My love for music has always been there, but it wasn’t until the pandemic that I started playing the piano. With more time at home, I decided to buy a piano and learn to play. Since then, I’ve fallen in love with the instrument and play it whenever I’m at home,” said the Monaco racer.
“After uploading a story on Instagram when I played this piano piece, I got a lot of positive feedback from fans which inspired me to record it to make it easier for fans to enjoy my music,” he added.
More than just a whim, Leclerc’s debut song also made it onto the charts of popular songs on iTunes. Leclerc’s name is among the ranks of musicians who are in demand by world listeners such as Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran and Miley Cyrus.
