West Java Provincial Government Committed to Continue Developing Kertajati Airport

JABAR EKSPRES —The West Java Provincial Government continues to develop the West Java International Airport (BIJB) Kertajati in Majalengka Regency.

Head of the Bureau of BUMD, Investment and Development Administration (BIA) of the West Java Provincial Secretariat, Lusi Lesminingwati, in Bandung on Thursday (27/4), said this was related to the opening of a new flight route Kertajati – Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia by Air Asia.

“We hope, of course, in addition to the full support of the Minister of Transportation and his staff, also with the completion of the accessibility of the Cisumdawu Toll Road which has a huge impact on the reactivation of Kertajati Airport. AIr Asia responded to this through the Kuala Lumpur – Kertajati route and vice versa. Garuda will also start Kertajati – Jeddah Umrah flights starting May 9,” said Lusi.

Lusi also hopes that in the future there will be more flight routes from Kertajati to various regions.

“Hopefully in the future, more and more routes will be provided by Kertajati Airport and the West Java Provincial Government must also start developing the aerocity area as planned,” she said.

According to Lusi, several steps continue to be pursued in the development of BIJB Kertajati including improving management and attracting investors.

“The BIA Bureau will certainly prepare better BIJB management and attract as many investors or strategic partners as possible,” said Lusi.
