JABAR EKSPRES —The Representative Office (KPw) of Bank Indonesia (BI) Papua Province ensures that transactions using Quick Response Code Indonesia Standard (QRIS) are still safe, so people don’t need to worry.
Head of Bank Indonesia Papua, Juli Budi Winantya in Jayapura, Tuesday (18/2), said that until now there have been no reports related to the misuse of QRIS in Bumi Cenderawasih.
“Although there have been no reports, we consistently educate the public on how to continue using QRIS safely and comfortably,” he said.
According to Juli, in addition to conducting education, BI will coordinate with Payment System Service Providers (PJSP) to help socialize so that the community can be more massive.

“We urge all people who use QRIS payments to be more careful and thorough so that they do not make mistakes in payments,” he said.
He explained that in addition, his party also reminded merchant owners to periodically check the QR code whether it was still appropriate or not, so that it could prevent unwanted things from happening.
“That way it can prevent the misuse of QRIS and this is also one of the mitigation efforts so that in the future we will continue to increase security in accordance with existing technological developments or advances,” he said again.
He added that BI together with the main institutions in the QRIS ecosystem such as the Payment System Association (ASPI), PJP, Payment System Infrastructure Provider (PIP), PT Settlement of National Electronic Transactions (PTEN) will continue to explore the potential for similar modes in other merchants.
