JABAR EKSPRES – The Australian Consulate General to Indonesia, Fiona Hoggart, expressed her admiration for the efforts of the Banyuwangi Regency Government, East Java, in developing the potential of young entrepreneurs through the Jagoan Banyuwangi Program.
Fiona said, “I am very impressed with the steps taken by the Banyuwangi Regency Government in motivating and fostering entrepreneurial spirit among the younger generation. Equally impressive is that the program covers three important sectors, namely agriculture, digital, and business, which shows a clear vision and strategy.”

The Jagoan Banyuwangi program involves three main aspects, namely Jagoan Tani, Jagoan Digital, and Jagoan Bisnis. The program aims to provide guidance and support to young people interested in the agriculture, business and digital technology sectors, including startups.
Fiona emphasized the potential business cooperation that can be done between Australia and Indonesia, especially Banyuwangi, in order to develop young entrepreneurs in the area. She also expressed her readiness to support and collaborate with the Banyuwangi Regency Government in this regard.
Meanwhile, the Regent of Banyuwangi, Ipuk Fiestiandani, explained that the Jagoan Banyuwangi Program is one of the initiatives to prepare the young generation to face future challenges. The program aims to equip youth with the skills needed to create their own job opportunities, with the hope of playing an active role in driving Banyuwangi’s economy.
Regent Ipuk also hopes that through cooperation with Australia, networks and opportunities for Banyuwangi youth in developing their potential can be further developed.

In 2023, the Jagoan Banyuwangi Program was attended by 92 teams, which were divided into 33 Farming Jagoan teams, 33 Business Jagoan teams, and 26 Digital Jagoan teams. At the culminating event, the 10 best teams from each category received awards and substantial coaching funds to grow their businesses.
