Jabar Ekspres – Indonesian Ambassador to Sweden Kamapradipta Isnomo invites the Indonesian diaspora and overseas in Sweden and Latvia to help promote Indonesian culture and positive values to the people of the two countries where they live.
“Indonesian citizens and diasporas in Sweden and Latvia must continue to maintain close relations and support each other,” Kama said at the ceremony to commemorate Indonesia’s 78th Independence Day in a written statement here on Thursday.
Kama wants Indonesians overseas in Sweden to build bridges of friendship and closer cooperation between the two countries.
Kama stated that the value of trade between the two countries exceeded the pre-pandemic figures. In 2022, the value of trade between the two countries reached 873.7 million US dollars (Rp13.4 trillion).
In the first five months of 2023 until May, it recorded 426.3 million US dollars (Rp6.5 trillion), up 34.69 percent compared to the first five months of 2022. Kama did not mention Indonesia-Sweden trade figures during the pre-pandemic period.
The ceremony itself took place at the Ambassador House of the Indonesian Embassy in Stockholm and was attended by Indonesian elders and community leaders living in Stockholm and its surroundings.

At this event, a staff member of the Indonesian Embassy in Stockholm was awarded the Satyalancana Karya Satya award for 20 years of service.
The event was also enlivened by the presentation of tumpeng to the elders of the Indonesian community in Sweden, Judo Kusumowidagdo and Sri Agoes, who are role models for the Indonesian community in Sweden.
