Jabar Ekspres – The University of Indonesia Faculty of Dentistry (FKG UI) student team made it to the top 3 in the international scientific competition, International Stomalogical Students Clinical Skill Competition 2023, after successfully going through four stages of the competition.
Dean of FKG UI, Dr. drg. Nia Ayu Ismaniati, MDSc, Sp.Ort(K) at the UI Campus on Friday, said that the success of the UI FKG student team in entering the top 3 in this prestigious scientific competition is proof that the competence of the UI FKG academic community is highly regarded at the international level.

This is because the participants come from well-known universities and have the best reputation.
“Hopefully this achievement will be a motivation to continue to hone knowledge and experience to face higher competitions in the future,” said Dr. Nia.
The team consisting of Athaya Angel Wardhani, Caroline Sugandi, M. Ilham Prima Adiputera, are FKG UI students in 2020. Thanks to good competence and team collaboration, the UI delegation finally managed to get rid of 130 other participants from Japan, Thailand and Korea.
As the only team representing Indonesia in this international event, the UI FKG student team successfully went through four stages of the competition.
These stages were cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and chopstick skills, suturing and dental anatomy drawing, class II preparation and intra oral scanning and clinical thinking.
Dr. Nia also appreciated the three FKG UI Lecturers who had successfully become speakers at CAPS UIP 2023. Hopefully the scientific analysis presented can have a positive impact on the development of dentistry, especially in the Asian region.
This event is part of a series of activities “Campus Asia Plus Symposium and University Immersion Program (CAPS UIP) 2023” held at the West China School of Stomalogy, Sichuan University, Chengdu, China.
