FIBA-SEABA Praises the Organization of the U-16 Asian Championship Qualifiers

JABAR EKSPRES – The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) and the Southeast Asian Basketball Association (SEABA) praised Indonesia’s success in organizing the FIBA U-16 Asian Championship 2023 SEABA Qualifiers.

The praise was given because the implementation of the championship which took place at GOR Kertajaya Surabaya on July 17-19, 2023 went smoothly from start to finish.

FIBA’s praise was expressed in a letter dated July 20, 2023 addressed to SEABA as the Southeast Asian basketball confederation. The letter was signed by Hagob Khajirian as FIBA Executive Director-Asia.

“We appreciate the smooth and successful implementation of the FIBA U-16 Asian Championship 2023 SEABA Qualifiers in Surabaya, Indonesia, by producing two representatives from the Southeast Asian zone, the Philippines and Malaysia,” Hagob wrote in his letter quoting the official website of the Ministry of Youth and Sports in Jakarta, Sunday.

Then SEABA officially issued a similar letter on July 21, 2023. The letter contains praise and appreciation for the successful organization of the championship organized by PP PERBASI with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

“We thank the chief executive and the entire committee who have worked hard and sacrificed everything for the successful organization of the FIBA U-16 Asian Championship 2023 SEABA Qualifiers,” wrote SEABA Secretary General Dr. Koh Koon Teck.

PP PERBASI Chairman Danny Kosasih is grateful for the recognition of the successful organization of the FIBA U-16 Asian Championship 2023 SEABA Qualifiers in Surabaya. Moreover, the recognition came from SEABA and FIBA.

“Thank you for the appreciation given by SEABA and FIBA for organizing the FIBA U-16 Asian Championship 2023 SEABA Qualifiers in Surabaya. Thank you also to all the organizers and related parties, especially the Ministry of Youth and Sports, who have helped the successful implementation of this championship,” Danny explained.

Deputy IV Kemenpora Surono said Kemenpora will always be present to assist the development of sports in Indonesia. Especially related to early age coaching and tiered competitions.
