JABAR EKSPRES – The Directorate of Movement and Community Service (PPM) of PPI World together with PT VDNI planted 1,000 trees at the PT VDNI industrial park in Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi on Tuesday (7/18) aimed at reducing environmental emissions and improving air quality in the region.
“This tree planting is the result of the MoU between PPI World and PT VDNI Industrial Park which was signed in November 2022,” PPI World Coordinator Achyar Alrasyid said in a written statement in Jakarta, Wednesday (7/19).
Achyar said the activity was a proactive effort by PPI World to work with corporations in dealing with climate change and preserving the environment.
“For now it is still 1,000 trees because the other 4,500 trees are still following,” he said.

The tree planting took place symbolically between PPI World and PT VDNI Industrial Park and was attended by PT VDNI General Manager Xu Shaotang, Head of Operation Zhang Jun, Head of Corporate Communication Mellysa Tanoyo and PT VDNI board of directors representative Michelle Hamnzah.
Achyar highlighted the urgency of reducing emissions and protecting the natural environment through tree planting.
According to him, it is important to take concrete steps to address climate change and align sustainable development with future needs.
“This is also concrete proof that PT VDNI is a company that is open to collaborating with the ideas of young people to participate in supporting the government and become part of sustainable development goals, especially in the environmental field,” Achyar said.
Meanwhile, Zhang Jun said planting new trees can provide long-term benefits such as controlling soil erosion, increasing water storage and creating a good habitat for animals around.
“Hopefully, Indonesian students abroad can continue to be catalysts of change and be meaningful to Indonesia. And we are very open to collaboration,” said Zhang Jun.
