Malaysia Criticizes West for Protecting Israeli Regime

JABAR EKSPRES – Malaysia criticized the discriminatory attitude of Western countries that often condemn conflicts in other countries but protect the Israeli regime from responsibility for their actions against the Palestinian population.

The criticism was made by Malaysian Foreign Minister, Zambry Abdul Kadir, during the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Committee Meeting on Palestine in Baku, Azerbaijan, which was attended by 15 members of the committee on Wednesday (7/5), according to a statement on Friday (7/7).

During the meeting, Zambry also raised a number of issues, including concern over the current situation in Palestine, which has claimed many lives, including women and children, and destroyed infrastructure.

He also condemned the recent incident in the West Bank city of Jenin, which involved the killing of Palestinian civilians by the Israeli regime.

Zambry urged NAM member states to continue to be united in maintaining their stance on Palestine, as well as condemning the atrocities and apartheid policies of the Israeli regime.

Malaysia’s stance remains the same, he said, which is to recognize the right of the Palestinian people to have their own independent and sovereign state like other independent countries in the world.

The Israeli military this week carried out a military operation – the largest in more than 20 years – in Jenin City, occupied West Bank.

About 12 Palestinians were killed, including five children, and more than 140 people were injured in the attack, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
