JABAR EKSPRES – The Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) of Magetan said that a hajj pilgrim from Magetan Regency, East Java, died in Mina, Saudi Arabia when he was about to throw the jumrah.
Acting Head of Hajj and Umrah Organization of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Magetan Imam Subakti informed that the deceased hajj was Sadirun Karso Rejo (70) from Pingkuk Village, Bendo Subdistrict, who joined the SUB-13 group.
“The deceased died in the Holy Land on Thursday (29/06/2023). The deceased was separated from the group when he was about to leave to throw the jumrah in Mina at around 16.00 local time before being found by the PPIH team in a critical condition,” said Imam in Magetan, Thursday (6/30).

After being found by officers, he continued, medical treatment was carried out on the person concerned, until finally he died.
He explained that a total of three pilgrims from Magetan Regency have died so far. Namely, two people came from group 14 and one person from group 13.
“We, the entire Hajj committee and the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Magetan, send our condolences. May the deceased be given husnul khotimah and Ahlul Jannah,” he said.
Meanwhile, the family of the deceased claimed to have been sincere despite the loss of the deceased.
“Despite feeling lost, the family has given up on the departure of the deceased. We are sincere because he died while worshiping in the house of Allah,” said family representative Agus Suryadi.
According to the data, the quota of hajj candidates from Magetan who departed in the 2023 hajj season was 533 people. Of that number, 85 pilgrims entered flight group (kloter) 13, as many as 445 pilgrims entered kloter 14, and three other pilgrims from Magetan joined the Blitar kloter.
