Luhut Confirms That The Export of Sea Sand has Not Been Carried Out

However, Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono revealed that the export of sea sand is the last option. In the PP, the government prioritizes the management of marine sedimentation for domestic reclamation needs.

“I don’t think exports (are the main thing). I am thinking of managing sedimentation so that reclamation in the country does not use anything other than sedimentation,” said Trenggono.

According to him, this is more important so that there is no more illegal and massive taking of sea sand, including taking sand from the island.

“If it is not (regulated), everything will be taken for reclamation purposes. Remember. I’m not talking about exports,” said Trenggono.
