DPR’s Hajj Monitoring Team Arrives in Madinah

JABAR EKSPRES – The House of Representatives’ Hajj supervision team of two dozen members arrived in Madinah, Saudi Arabia, on Monday (6/19) evening, after traveling about two hours by fast train from King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah City.

Member of the Hajj Monitoring Team of the House of Representatives Maman Imanul Haq said that the team would, among others, check the provision of accommodation and catering services for Indonesian pilgrims.

Maman admitted that he received information about problems with maktab and food portions for pilgrims.

“We want to check the extent of the availability of maktab, as well as the availability of catering received by pilgrims. We clarify what the problem is,” he said.

In addition, according to him, the DPR Hajj supervision team will review services for elderly pilgrims.

“Of course the maktab is the first point, catering, health, including we want to see the extent of services to the elderly. We will see whether the elderly are really well served or there are still shortcomings that we must improve,” he said.

Another member of the House of Representatives, Mufti Anam, said that the team will conduct checks to ensure that the implementation of Hajj services is in accordance with what has been agreed by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the House of Representatives.

“We will check because there are many complaints. Before leaving, we communicated with several pilgrims about catering. We want everything to go according to what was agreed between the DPR and the Ministry of Religious Affairs,” he said.

Mufti added, the Hajj supervisory team will also check the organization of health services for Indonesian pilgrims.

“We will check all of this first because information from the public is not necessarily true, pity our friends here who have worked hard,” he said.
