Depok has the political will from the leadership level down to the agencies and is supported by the potential productive age of about 71 percent of Depok’s population of 2.2 million.
In addition, Depok City has 113 start-up companies, and creative spaces to support the skills and creativity of art activists, such as co-working spaces and community hubs.
The creative economy sector in Depok City can be promoted so that the achievement of a golden Indonesia in 2045 can be realized.

For this reason, the Depok Creative City Team with assistance from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy and the National Selection Committee must immediately complete the application file to become part of the UNESCO Creative City Network 2023.
Because, there are still data that need to be completed to submit an application after the determination of Depok City as Indonesia’s representative in the UNESCO creative city selection event in the field of media arts.
There are about 35 questions that must be answered and filled in English, which include what kind of policies of Depok City in sustainable development, how the influence of media arts on other fields.
To complete the file, it is necessary to involve various elements of stakeholders, including the city government, academics, communities, media, and other parties in the field of media arts.
The team from the Global Networks of Facilitators for UNESCO in the Asia Pacific Region explained that the national selection committee team had reviewed the potential of media arts in Depok City.
The Depok City Government must utilize the potential of media arts in the region as a strength to develop the region.
Media arts covers a wide area, although initially it was only in the form of applications and games, but then there was animation, robotics, and others. The community is also very potential in Depok, it has strength in media arts, it’s just a matter of how to build the connection.
