According to Riri, Chairil Anwar is a figure who is able to show the pride of the Indonesian language, so that people need to be aware of the importance of the poetry tradition or artistic language which is part of the nation’s history.
Eva Wani, Chairil’s only daughter, participated in the opportunity to promote this culture. He feels proud that many of his father’s works are still loved and made into a modern format.
“If it’s still there, Chairil is 101 years old. Hopefully it will continue to exist to realize the verse of his poem which says I want to live another thousand years,” explained Eva.
The hope given by the Director of the Ministry of Education and Culture’s PMM after efforts to advance this culture is that the next generation of the nation can continue to learn, find out, and participate in preserving the works of poets in Indonesia.
