Shin Tae-Yong Thinks Indonesia Should Have Scored Against Palestine

JABAR EKSPRES – Indonesian national team coach Shin Tae-yong said his team should have scored against Palestine in a FIFA matchday match at Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium (GBT) Surabaya on Wednesday night.

“The game was good and we should have scored one to two goals today but unfortunately we couldn’t,” he said during a press conference after the match.

Even so, the South Korean coach praised the performance of Garuda Nusantara’s growing troops.

“The player’s performance is very good tonight, we can go a long way and will continue to develop in the future,” he said.

In addition, the former South Korean national team player also praised the quality of Rafael Struick and Ivar Jenner for showing good play.

“Rafael and Ivar debuted as Indonesian national team players and their performance was good, both are young people who came all the way to Indonesia. They showed what had to be shown in this match,” he said.

While in the next FIFA matchday match against Argentina, he advised the players to keep playing optimally even though they realized they were dealing with the World Cup champion team.

“We all know, (Argentina) is ranked number one in FIFA and world champion, definitely not an easy opponent. My message to the players, so that they can be maximized in that match,” he said.

Meanwhile, Indonesian national team captain Asnawi Mangkualam regretted that the result of the match against Palestine was not what he wanted.

“Of course tonight’s match is not what we want. Because at the beginning of the match, we targeted three points,” he said.

However, Asnawi and his teammates remain grateful for what has been achieved that night.

“We remain grateful, because we did not lose and we will improve again in the next match,” he said.

The Indonesian national team drew 0-0 against Palestine in the first half of the FIFA Matchday match at Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium (GBT) Surabaya on Wednesday night.
