JABAR EKSPRES – Various Bandung Acceleration Programs Towards World Class City
The Bandung City Government is now preparing to upgrade itself to a World Class City.
Of course, many things must be prepared to achieve this goal. In addition, various programs are needed that can support this upgrade.

1. Digital IT Infrastructure
Through the Department of Communication and Information Technology (Diskominfo), the Bandung City Government has prepared qualified infrastructure for the development of digital startups. This is reflected in the absence of blank spots (for internet access) in Bandung.
Head of Information Technology Infrastructure Division of Diskominfo Bandung, Mahyudin said that digitalization needs to be supported by the right IT infrastructure. Moreover, 80 percent of Bandung residents are active internet users.
“Bandung is also facing 5G, as a pilot for several regions in Indonesia. This network can increase economic growth as well as faster and easier data growth,” he said.
Currently, the Bandung City Government through the Communication and Informatics Office (Diskominfo) has spread free internet in 500 RW.
This service is installed in a number of RW halls, large sub-district mosques and in 30 parks spread across the city of Bandung.

2. Bandung Command Center (BCC)
One of the other programs owned by the Bandung City Government is the Bandung Command Center (BCC). In fact, a number of countries have collaborated with Bandung through this program.
One of them is the City Government of Petaling Jaya (PJ) Malaysia is very inspired by the Bandung City Government’s BCC. In fact, they could be the first city in Malaysia to have a command center for smart city development.
BCC not only talks about monitoring the security of Bandung City. However, all services are integrated in the BCC server.
