PT TransJakarta Allows Customers Not to Wear Masks

JABAR EKSPRES – PT Transportasi Jakarta (TransJakarta) starting Saturday (10/6) allows residents of DKI Jakarta and its surroundings to remove masks when using the transportation service.

“Based on the direction of the Jakarta Provincial Government and the Jakarta Transportation Agency, all TransJakarta customers are allowed not to wear masks in our fleet,” said TransJakarta Corporate Secretary and Public Relations Division Head Apriastini Bakti Bugiansri in a written statement in Jakarta, Sunday.

She explained, this was in accordance with the Circular Letter of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Transportation Agency (SE Dishub) Number 26 of 2023 concerning Appeals for the Implementation of Health Protocols in Public Transportation Facilities and Infrastructure during the Transition Period Towards Endemic.

In addition, TransJakarta users may remove their masks because they see the development of better control of Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

However, if TransJakarta bus customers are unwell, it is still recommended to use masks properly.

“(It is allowed to remove the mask) if the customer is in good health and is not at risk of contracting or transmitting COVID-19. However, if the customer feels unwell, it is recommended to keep using a mask that is well closed,” said Apriastini.

In addition, customers are also encouraged to always bring hand sanitizer or wash their hands with soap and running water after touching shared objects.

“And encouraged to maintain distance when in an unhealthy condition or at risk of contracting or transmitting COVID-19,” said Apriastini.

Previously, the COVID-19 Handling Task Force issued health protocol rules during the COVID-19 endemic transition period as the spread of cases was controlled.

The adjustments are listed in the COVID-19 Task Force Circular No.1 of 2023 concerning Health Protocols during the COVID-19 Endemic Transition Period.
