JABAR EKSPRES – Dorna WSBK Organisation and China Sports Media (CSM) have formed a partnership to bring live and comprehensive coverage of the superbike racing championship on Chinese social media platform Douyin.
Douyin is a social media platform born from parent company ByteDance, just like TikTok. Through Douyin, it is expected to be able to reach more motorsport fans in the Bamboo Curtain Country.
As quoted from an official statement received on Thursday, Douyin is expected to reach 800 million users by 2023 and further establish itself as one of the most sought-after social media platforms in the world.
“Through CSM streaming of WSBK race action on Douyin, Chinese fans can immerse themselves in every moment of the championship in real-time, creating an unprecedented level of engagement,” said Dorna WSBK Organisation.
The partnership, implemented for the 2023 and 2024 seasons, is not only an important milestone for WSBK, but also reflects the growing interest of Chinese manufacturers in motorsport.
Among them is Kove, one of China’s leading motorcycle manufacturers, which is now participating in the fierce competition of the WorldSSP300 category.
Chinese fans now have the opportunity to follow Kove’s racing efforts closely, support their favourite riders in the WorldSSP300 category, and enhance the overall viewing experience.
Douyin’s interactive features and vast user base make it the perfect platform to connect with motorsports fans across China, and foster an even larger fan community.
“This partnership is perfectly aligned with Dorna’s strong dedication to staying at the forefront of digital innovation and catering to the evolving preferences of motorsport fans,” said the Dorna WSBK Organisation.
“By embracing the power of Douyin, WSBK is embracing new avenues of engagement, allowing fans to experience the championship in an immersive and captivating way,” it added.
