Raphael Guerreiro Agrees to Join Bayern Munich

JABAR EKSPRES – Portuguese footballer Raphael Guerreiro is rumoured to have reached a verbal agreement to join Bayern Munich on a free transfer.

Reported by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano through his Twitter account, Guerreiro joined Bayern with a three-year contract duration until 2026.

“Bayern will sign Raphael Guerreiro on a free transfer. A verbal agreement was reached on a three-year contract valid until June 2026,” Romano wrote, quoted from his Twitter account, Thursday.

Personal terms between Guerreiro and Bayern have been agreed and the Portuguese national team player is scheduled to have a medical and sign a contract next week.

“The agreed personal terms have been agreed. Medical and signature will take place next week,” Romano continued.

The 29-year-old left-back was heavily linked with Atletico Madrid after deciding not to extend his contract with Die Borussen.

Romano also dismissed the news and assured that the player had officially joined the 11-time Bundesliga title winner.

“There is no move from Atletico Madrid, Guerreiro will play for Bayern,” Romano said.

This transfer makes Guerreiro will be included in a row of Dortmund’s umpteenth top names from Robert Lewandowski, Mats Hummels, to Mario Goetze, who moved to rival club Bayern.

Meanwhile, since being brought in by Dortmund from French club FC Lorient in the 2016/2017 season, Guerreiro has appeared 224 times in all competitions with a contribution of 40 goals and 50 assists, as reported by Transfermarkt.

He also helped the Signal Iduna Park-based club win the DFB-Pokal twice (2016/2017, 2020/2021) and the DFL-Supercup once (2019/2020).

In his final year at Dortmund, Guerreiro almost presented the Bundesliga trophy 2022/2023. Failure to win over Mainz in the last week made Guerreiro fail to end his career sweetly for seven seasons defending the team that is synonymous with the black and yellow jersey.
