JABAR EKSPRES – Minister of Youth and Sports Dito Ariotedjo said the amount of bonuses to be given to medal-winning athletes at the ASEAN Para Games 2023 in Cambodia increased compared to the bonuses at the same competition in 2022 in Solo.
“For bonuses, this is definitely an increase from the previous ASEAN Para Games, this is definitely an increase because it also follows the bonuses from the SEA Games,” said Menpora Dito in Phnom Penh Cambodia, Thursday.
The Menpora confirmed that the amount of bonuses given by the government to para games athletes is the same as the bonuses obtained by medal-winning athletes at the 2023 SEA Games.
Quoting data from the Indonesian Ministry of Youth and Sports, the bonus for gold medal athletes in individual matches is IDR 525 million, doubles or pairs IDR 420 million, and team numbers IDR 367.5 million.
For silver medals in individual numbers IDR315 million, doubles or pairs IDR252 million, and teams IDR220.5 million. Meanwhile, the bronze medal bonus for individual numbers is IDR157.5 million, doubles or pairs IDR126 million, and teams IDR105.5 million.
Dito said the government deliberately gave bonuses to athletes who won medals at the 2023 SEA Games a few days ago to coincide with the ASEAN Para Games competition in Cambodia. The goal, said Dito, is to spur the enthusiasm of para games athletes to win medals at the largest disability sports competition in Southeast Asia.
The Menpora also conveyed President Joko Widodo’s message to athletes who received bonuses to use them wisely, such as investing for the future.
Dito also conveyed this to medal-winning athletes at the ASEAN Para Games 2023 in Cambodia.
Citing the official website of the ASEAN Para Games 2023 in Cambodia, Indonesia is ranked first in the medal standings with 148 gold, 132 silver, and 87 bronze.
The ASEAN Para Games held since 3 June will end on Friday (9/6) with para-badminton as the last sport to be competed.
