Four New Services This Year in Arafat and Mina

JABAR EKSPRES – The Hajj Hajj Organizing Committee (PPIH) of Saudi Arabia 1444 H/2023 M continues to improve the quality of services for Indonesian pilgrims, one of which is by providing four additional new services in Arafat and Mina.

Deputy Chairman of PPIH Saudi Arabia 1444 H Nasrullah Jasam, Tuesday (30/5) said, this year the improvement of service quality is carried out in various sectors, including service innovations in Arafat and Mina.

The four innovations are, first, the addition of toilets in Arafat, so that the ratio of bathrooms in Arafat is better than the previous year.

“So far, the ratio of toilets in Arafat is 1:150. This year we are trying to add toilets, so that the ratio will be 1:50,” said Nasrullah Jasam during the Ta’aruf PPIH Daker Makkah night in Jarwal.

He said that monitoring of the provision process carried out by masyariq or service provider companies continues.

The second innovation, continued Nasrullah, is that the floor of the Indonesian pilgrims’ tents in Arafat is coated with fine sand. This fine sand is compacted with heavy equipment. After that, carpets and foam will be laid.

“Combined with air conditioning, the fine sand floor is expected to make the temperature cooler,” said Nasrullah.

The third innovation is the electrical installation that no longer relies on generators, previously Arafat’s electricity used generators, so the power was less stable.

“This year it is fully installed, so the electric power is higher. This is expected to make the air conditioner cooler. Electricity support for medical devices is also more optimal,” he said.

Especially in Mina, said Nasrullah, this year’s innovation is the floor of the tent which has used ceramic tiles, previously the floor of the tent in Mina used concrete blocks.

“Now it is tiled. It is flatter, so it is expected to be more comfortable to occupy after being carpeted and foam. We are always communicating with the Saudis for the smooth operation of Hajj 1444 H,” he said, ending the conversation.
