JABAR EKSPRES –Mercedes racing team leader, Toto Wolff said, he did not want to rush to provide updates to the W14 racing car in order to deliver two of his drivers, Lewis Hamilton and George Russell, back to winning titles in Formula 1 this season.
Wolff, quoted from the official Formula 1 website, Tuesday (5/30), said he had brought a number of updates and refreshes to their car at the Monaco Grand Prix, last weekend, although the improvement was considered still quite far from the ideal deed.
Nevertheless, he believes that his team is now moving in the right direction with the development of the W14. He hopes that more significant improvements can be seen at the Spanish Grand Prix this coming weekend.

“I think it’s very difficult because we are competing with Aston Martin and Ferrari. But we really have to be careful and collect more data in Barcelona. This is a new basis,” Wolff said.
“It’s more about understanding what this car can do now, how to set it up, and we’re really good at working on that. Even with the old package which was not very good or bad at the beginning of the season, we managed to win the race at Interlagos (in 2022) in a dominant way so we will achieve that,” he explained.
The drastic change in weather conditions in Monaco where it suddenly rained, he continued, was both a challenge and an advantage for the team as it dealt with it perfectly and kept the team ahead of Ferrari.
Wolff also admitted that there is still a lot to learn about the performance of their car given the number of new parts.
“We have just been collecting data and preparing the car in a good way. For the last two and a half or three years, we’ve had a very good race car. So on Sunday (28/5) it looks more positive than it looked during qualifying,” he said.
